Oh to be 4 years old and have tea with a Princess. Well that’s what my daughter got to do yesterday. Look at her face you can see that she loved it.
Loch Leven’s Larder near Kinross is an absolute gem of a place and I would definitely recommend a visit if you haven’t been. It’s about 3 miles from Kinross and about a ten minute drive from the motorway. All year round they serve good food and yummy cakes. Theres also a wee playbit outside and you can walk down to the Loch.
Yesterday however, we were there for their Princess and Superhero Afternoon Tea.
For the children there were jam sandwiches, cheese sandwiches, a crispy cake and a character cake. They also got an activity pack containing play doh, colouring sheets and tattoos.
For the adults a salted caramel brownie, scone with jam and cream and a mince pie. As well as a hot drink of your choice.
The cakes were amazing, the salted caramel brownie was super rich and chocolatey.
Of course for my 4 year old the main attraction was the princesses (sorry batman I know you tried). The princesses (and superheroes) all made their way around the tables chatting to the children and posing for photos. Afterwards they were all invited to get their pictures taken with Cinderella in her carriage. Dreams do come true.
The afternoon tea cost £5.95 for children and £6.50 for adults. It’s well worth it if you have a child who loves princesses or superheroes. I’m not sure of there are spaces left but the Larder is doing loads over Christmas. It really is lovely up there http://lochlevenslarder.com/news-and-events/events/princess-and-superhero-afternoon-teas/
